for as long as i remember i’ve been a doodler. i didn’t take notes in school, i doodled. teachers used to try to catch me unawares by asking questions, but i have a pretty good ability to doodle and still manage to pay attention, so when they figured out i could still answer they left me alone. i still doodle at work, in meetings, on phone calls. about 2003 i started saving the ones that were more than just scribbles and taping them into a little red patent leather blank book. i’ve decided to group them by time period/style and post them up here for fun.

Decided I’d give the Imagine FX Bi-Weekly Rebel Challenge a shot. Theme this time is “Neighbors”. D and I sat and giggled over all kinds of good ideas but none that I’d be able to get done by the 6th. Had just about given up and then just started sketching and this one started to appear.
I’m trying a new style here, more of a hard edged thing on the shadows and keeping the sketch lines intact, just coloring them a bit, and also a bit less saturated than the colors I usually use.
I think this one is my final…*maybe* (click for larger view, WIPs below)
I finally got brave and entered my first challenge at ImagineFX. It was the October Monthly Challenge, and the theme was “Witchy”. My goal was just to FINISH by the deadline because as everyone can see I am the Queen of Unfinished Paintings™. I did finish, and am about 90% happy with it because as always there are things I’d like to clean up, but I had to make the deadline. Everyone was friendly and helpful, so I feel like it was a success and am going to try one of the Bi-weekly challenges next.
Anyhooooooooo, here’s my image, this one done entirely in Photoshop, I’ll post up all the WIPs later.
I worked a tiny bit on Arya last night. Was too lazy to get out the tablet so just washed in some stuff with the mouse and worked a bit on eyes/brows. I wanted her to have more of an Arya expressionon her face. Washed in messy hair and a basic shift, the braids were too kempt for Arya and her neck was too long.

Spent about an hour working on Diana tonight, made a tiny bit of progress, got started a bit with the color layering. Working on the desktop with the 22inch widescreen and the tablet was much nicer than the laptop, but I think I need to install my Photoshop brush libraries and Painter X to give me a few more options.
edit note: I’ve added the final image into this post as well. 12/29/08

I finally managed to start filling the Gallery.
I installed the lightbox 2 widget, which is better than the default gallery, but I still have some CSS work and possible alterations to do before I’m happy with it.
Still have more work to do on the theme itself, want to add digg links and such, just in case I ever get traffic, but now I better scoot to bed, it’s 1:29 a.m. already
