Feed My Starving Children - Today's Breakdown

Today my coworkers and I enjoyed an afternoon outing to Feed My Starving Children.  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals formulated specially for starving children, and they ship the meals to more than 60 countries around the world.

In an hour and a half, we packed 57 boxes of food.  Those boxes will provide 12,312 meals, enough to feed 34 children for a year.  It was a humbling experience that really put life in perspective.  And we had a lot of fun too.  I hope to do it again soon.  It’s a great place for your family, team, employees to enjoy some teamwork and fun while helping out those who really need it.  If you are interested in volunteering or donating, go to Feed My Starving Children to learn more.

KITTIEZ!

by yiddle on Feb.10, 2009, under YiddleBits

After we lost Jack, I didn’t think I would be ready for another kitty for a while. But then we met Toby. He’d been at the Humane Society since October. His previous owners brought him there because he was a blanket sucker…so was Jack! So he was a good match for us.

Toby likes his blankie, snuggles, giving kisses, playing chase with Tink and kitty treats. He also gives good backrubs, purrs loudly and has a chirpy meow.

Tink enjoys car rides, following her boy (d), playing chase with Toby and feathers. She is also very polite and likes to chat.

5 leaf clovers are NOT lucky

5 Leaf Clover - not lucky.

I had decided that since today was such a beautiful sunny day it would be a great day to deep clean and detail the car. I worked for about an hour, and then because I was sitting in the car cleaning the dash and I was getting a bit hot decided to take a break in the shade.

While I was sititng there I found a 5 leaf clover. It’s not terribly unusual to find more-than-threes in my yard, I found a 7 leaf a few years ago, but I thought I’d scan this before it wilted or got eaten by bugs.

That’s when I found out that 5 leaf clovers are not lucky.

My scanner drivers had gone bad. I had to do a reinstall and that meant I had to reboot. I’d been avoiding rebooting because I’d been keeping Photoshop open since I was running the trial and was past the trial period but it was still working as long as I didn’t close it. Soooo now, thanks to this 5 leaf clover, I am without Photoshop until I get my license early next week.
