Why I Love My 6 Color Pen

by yiddle on Feb.13, 2010, under Art, doodlebook |

So many posts today, trying to catch up. I’ve been tweeting lately about my 6 color ball point pen, which I LOVE, and which they are no longer selling at DB (or anywhere else locally). I LOVE that pen. Makes doodling so much more fun. I looked online to see if I could buy some more and found…GASP…TEN COLOR PENS!!! For only $1.49!! I bought 10. :D

I doodle during meetings at work – I know lots of people probably think I’m not paying attention but my brain actually listens BETTER when I am drawing. Weird, huh?

Moon Bunny Sketches

by yiddle on Feb.13, 2010, under Art, WIP |

These are some sketches for the next Natsuko painting. In her dream, Natsuko is on the moon playing with the moon bunnies. The pink ones were earlier sketches I did with just a ballpoint on notebook paper (meeting doodles), the others I did with my new Copic markers.

Feed My Starving Children - Today's Breakdown

Feed My Starving Children - Today's Breakdown

Today my coworkers and I enjoyed an afternoon outing to Feed My Starving Children.  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals formulated specially for starving children, and they ship the meals to more than 60 countries around the world.

In an hour and a half, we packed 57 boxes of food.  Those boxes will provide 12,312 meals, enough to feed 34 children for a year.  It was a humbling experience that really put life in perspective.  And we had a lot of fun too.  I hope to do it again soon.  It’s a great place for your family, team, employees to enjoy some teamwork and fun while helping out those who really need it.  If you are interested in volunteering or donating, go to Feed My Starving Children to learn more.
